Bath SpaRCS AGM 2019

Another year has flown by and we met again on the 2nd December for the Bath SpaRCS 51st AGM.

The meeting at the Saltford Golf club was well attended by members. A minute’s silence was observed at the beginning of the meeting to reflect upon the passing of Glyn who recently lost his fight with Cancer.

The Chairman presented his report for the year which focused heavily on the massive amount of time and effort that was spent petitioning the CAA and Parliament over the proposed restrictive legislation, brought about by rogue Drone activity. The original proposals could have had a huge impact upon the model flying community.

Club events during the year included a Spot Landing Competition, two fly-ins at Colerne for Club members and the annual club meal.

The Treasurer reported that for the second consecutive year the club had made a loss, the meeting agreed to an increase in fees and the need to attract new members. It was confirmed that members can pay the new CAA registration fee through the club if they have BMFA ‘A’ or ‘B’ certificate or have passed the BMFA on-line competency test.

Trophies were awarded to members for Spot Landing, Best Model of 2019 and Services to the Club.

We wish all members and readers of this website a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you flying in the New Year.
